Weddings & Parties

The Unthank is an accessible location in the heart of Norwich’s Golden Triangle, with parking available.

If you’re planning a wedding, civil partnership, birthday party, christening or other special event we would be delighted to help you. We can accommodate all sorts of different sizes and types of events.

Classic Victorian bar – seating up to 40 – ideal for a smaller, relaxed meal with close family and friends and no pretension. This is our main bar area downstairs so is shared with other customers.

Airy Upstairs restaurant – seating up to 70 – a self-contained space to gather your guests together, enjoy delicious food and perhaps speeches and cake.

Large relaxed garden (and a covered, heated Courtyard too!) – perfect for a summer afternoon or for arrival drinks before you sit down to eat.

The Whole Pub – if you’re looking to celebrate with a larger group we can make the whole pub available on a few selected dates. Join us after your ceremony and perhaps combine a drinks reception with a wedding breakfast and a fun-filled evening with music, laughter and evening snacks.

The Unthank is an original venue, and can be tailored to suit you. You can include whatever personal touches you want to add, allowing you to exercise your creativity.

We have a team of experienced, friendly, professional staff who’ll provide unobtrusive and capable service.

We don’t apply any hidden ‘wedding’ charges – our prices are equally good value whatever the occasion. If you choose to have any ‘extras’, from flowers, balloons to a DJ, you simply pay for what you want to have.

You can take a look at our casual party menus relaxed party menus or suggested group dining menus but we’re expert at guiding you to what menu or style might suit your event so please do get in touch and we’ll be happy to help you put together your menu and timings to make sure your event is a success.

Parties

For parties you can choose from the same excellent range of informal and formal food options – we have great ideas for delicious food walked around to your guests so they don’t need to stop enjoying themselves to eat. We can provide an extensive choice of music or you can use one of our recommended DJs. We are licensed until midnight with later hours available by arrangement.

We can organise flowers, balloons, music, cakes and any other details you’d like taken care of.

Celebration Dinners

If you’d like to gather your friends and family to celebrate a special occasion we can seat groups of almost any size. We can offer a host of suggested dishes or you can choose from our seasonal main menu in advance.
